Emmy merupakan penghargaan merayakan hasil karya terbaik di industri televisi (jam tayang utama) Amerika Serikat dalam satu tahun terakhir. Tahun ini, serial Watchmen berhasil meraih nominasi terbanyak dengan total 11 nominasi, tapi Schitt's Creek yang memenangkan tujuh kategori berhasil membawa piala terbanyak.
Zendaya, aktris cantik dalam film serial Spiderman, merupakan aktris termuda yang meraih kemenangan dalam nominasi Outstanding Lead Actress In a Drama Serries.
